People Inc. is an independent, 501(c)(3) organization. A leader in our field, we play a unique and valuable role in the communities we serve by assisting our most vulnerable populations, those with developmental disabilities, special needs and seniors, in leading healthy, independent and productive lives.
Started out of very humble beginnings, our agency was founded in 1970, by parents and professionals who were both gravely concerned and passionate about addressing the needs of people with intellectual disabilities. Since then, the People Inc. family has grown to serve more than 10,000 people of all ages and families in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Wyoming and Monroe counties. We operate nearly 200 residential sites, day programs and regional offices, and ensure that all of our services are provided with our mission in mind: to ensure that people with disabling conditions or other special needs have the supports they need to participate and succeed in an accepting society.
We work each day ensure that people of all ages with developmental disabilities and seniors receive the services and care they need, so that they can move closer to their life goals and dreams.
