Every day, nurses working across People Inc.’s day services, residential programs and home health play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing compassionate, person-centered care that makes a difference in the lives of people served.  During National Nurses Week, the agency celebrated its dedicated nursing team, with two registered nurses receiving one of the profession’s highest honors: the DAISY Award®.

About 400 People Inc. supporters attended “A Night of Celebration” on April 30 to celebrate a year of achievement and the far-reaching impact of People Inc.’s programs and services. The event helped the People Inc. Foundation raise more than $193,000 to support the agency’s mission.

People Inc. President and CEO Anne McCaffrey was in Albany on May 6 speaking before a public hearing held by the New York State Standing Committees on Disabilities and Labor to address barriers to employment for people with disabilities.
