Shanell Davis, senior advocate, was recently honored with a Buffalo Black Achiever Award at the organization’s gala in October. This is an annual awards banquet sponsored by the Buffalo Black Achievers, Inc. to showcase the variety and quality of achievements in the community.

“In every endeavor, Shanell Davis exemplifies the spirit of the Black Achiever Award. She is a visionary leader, a fierce advocate, and a beacon of hope for those who have been marginalized or overlooked. Her work is not only about advocacy—it is about justice, empowerment, and the belief that every person, regardless of ability or background, deserves to thrive,” said Bradford Watts, associate vice president of community relations and DEI at People Inc.

Davis leads the advocacy team at People Inc, where she participates in advocacy groups, lobbies for policy changes, attends conferences and participates in agency committees.

Olive Senior Manor in Buffalo and the Blocher Apartments in Williamsville. He’s currently leading a groundbreaking project to build an ADA-accessible single-family home in Youngstown, the first of its kind for the agency.

“Brian Smith is not just a planner. He’s a builder of communities, a connector of people, and a catalyst for change. Brian has been a breath of fresh air,” according to Concetta Ferguson, chief innovation officer at People Inc.
