Benefits

People Inc. rewards employees with positive, diversified work environments, opportunities for growth, competitive wages and many outstanding benefits. At People Inc., we understand that our most important resource is our employees and we invite you to take a closer look at just a few of the great benefits People Inc. can offer you:

Health Insurance

  • People Inc. offers health insurance for full time employees. Dental and vision coverage is offered for full and part time employees. When compared to industry benchmarks, People Inc. contributes more to the cost of employee health insurance than most employers.
  • Employees can also pay for certain health care expenses with pre-tax dollars through a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA). An FSA or HSA can help to cover the cost of eligible items, including physician and prescription co-payments, glasses or contacts, dental bills or childcare expenses for dependent children (FSA only) under the age of 13.

Paid Time Off

Full time and part time employees begin accruing paid time off (PTO) immediately upon hire. PTO can be used for vacation, sick or personal days. A PTO buyback option is also offered.

401(k) Plan

Full time and part time employees may participate in the 401(k) plan upon the completion of six months of service. People Inc. makes a matching contribution of .30 cents on the dollar up to 3% of annual compensation.

Earned Wage Access

This benefit allows you to access up to $500 of your earned wages before your scheduled payday, giving you more freedom to manage your expenses. We know that financial flexibility is crucial. This program allows “on-demand” cash from your paycheck prior to the normal payday, if you have logged hours. This can help bridge the gap between paychecks, alleviating stress that comes with unplanned costs, and puts expense management on a timeline that works for you. The Earned Wage Access platform is accessible through a mobile app.

Bereavement Policy

People Inc. offers paid time off for the loss of a significant loved one, including the loss of a pet.

Holiday & Shift Incentives

  • Employees who work on a People Inc. designated holiday will receive an additional hourly premium above their regular rate of pay.
  • Employees working in a direct care capacity on overnights and weekends will receive a shift incentive.

Educational Advancement

  • Tuition Assistance: People Inc. values education. Employees who have completed six months of service, or more, are eligible for tuition assistance for courses started and satisfactorily completed while actively employed at People Inc. Coursework eligible for reimbursement must be offered through an accredited or approved educational institution or program of higher learning. Online courses and certifications are also included. Course of study must be related to your position at People Inc. with the intent that job performance will be improved or there will otherwise be a direct benefit to the agency. Courses must be approved by your supervisor and the Human Resource Department.
  • Professional Fee Reimbursement Plan: Active employees who have completed six months of service with the agency are eligible to apply for reimbursement. Professional Fee Reimbursement Benefits are available for the cost of eligible professional licenses and professional organization dues incurred during an employee’s employment with the agency. Professional Fee Reimbursements expenses will be combined with Tuition Reimbursement expenses.

Student Loans

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program will forgive the balance remaining on any eligible student loans after 10 years for borrowers that work full time for 10 years at a public service job or a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Only payments made after October 1, 2007, qualify. People Inc. is a qualifying not-for-profit.

NYS Health Care Worker Bonus

New York State enacted a provision in the NYS budget allowing for the payment of bonuses to "recruit, retain and reward heath care workers" meeting specified eligibility requirements. People Inc. is participating in this program.

Other Employee Advantages

  • People Inc. employees can purchase discounted tickets to Delta Sonic and Regal Cinemas.
  • The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides employees and their families access to a range of free, confidential services that can help with a variety of issues, such as 24/7 crisis support, face-to-face provider visits for behavioral issues, health and fitness discounts and more.
  • Through the Employer Resource Network (ERN) employees have access to Success Coaches who provide private, free and confidential supports. This is available for any employee who is facing a personal barrier, whether personal or work-related, which may be affecting their ability to be successful at work.
  • The Liberty Mutual Group Savings Plus allows People Inc. employees to purchase auto, home and renters insurance at low group rates through Liberty Mutual Insurance. Full time employees can have premiums automatically deducted from their paycheck.
  • Memberships to the Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union and Amherst Federal Credit Union are available to full and part time employees.

Peer Review Program: A Conflict Resolution Process for People Inc. Employees

People Inc. recognizes that from time to time an employee may encounter a problem, question or concern, that if left unresolved, could affect job satisfaction and work performance. Employees are encouraged to voice their concerns about how the application of an agency policy has affected them. An "open door policy" provides access to any member of management with whom an employee wishes to express a concern. However, when an employee is faced with a situation that has not been satisfactorily resolved by traditional means, the Peer Review process may be used. Peer Review is a formal problem-solving system designed to resolve employee conflicts quickly and fairly.

Learning & Development Opportunities
