People Inc. Orchard Park Day Hab Connects with the Community
A group of people who attend our Orchard Park Day Habilitation Program are always crafting to expand their skills and creativity! With guidance and support from Direct Support Professionals Michelle Booth, Doreen Evans and Deb Moreland, participants work on a number of different projects each year, from handmade holiday decorations to household items. Group members have developed great relationships with community organizations.

One example of a partnership is with Suzanne D’Amico. Suzanne, director of development at WNY Women’s Foundation, is eager to work alongside staff to develop meaningful projects for participants attending our program. In September, the group made fall decorations and put together dish towels – combining pot holders and hand towels – to bring some cheer to women in need.

“I’ve enjoyed getting to know everyone,” Suzanne shared. “Watching them all grow has been so fun and rewarding. I love their spirit and everything they represent. Our missions align. It’s all about supporting people, and People Inc. brings such sunshine!”
