People Inc. Receives $5 Million Pledge from Tom Golisano

We are still celebrating! On Sept. 17, Paychex owner Tom Golisano announced the largest personal donation in People Inc.’s history, pledging $5 million as part of his plans to give $360 million to 82 upstate New York non-profit organizations. People Inc. President and CEO Anne McCaffrey and Board Treasurer Dennis K. Schaeffer (in photo) were on hand for the announcement. Planning will begin soon to determine how the funds can have the most impact on our mission. In the meantime, we are so excited, we made a video to thank Mr. Golisano for his generosity!

People Inc. offers the only program serving both the Western New York and Rochester areas that helps eligible people with developmental disabilities and their families to work through securing and implementing adaptive solutions to enhance safety and independence in their homes. Grant Secures State-of-the-Art Equipment for Rehabilitative Health

People who receive physical, occupational, and speech therapies through the People Inc. Rehabilitative Health Services at 12 locations across WNY and the Rochester area will have access to the latest therapeutic equipment and assistive services thanks to a New York State grant. Congressman Tim Kennedy recently joined People Inc. President and CEO Anne McCaffrey to announce the funding at People Inc.’s Hertel Avenue facility.

New Afternoon Respite for Students Opens in Orchard Park

To support families of children with developmental disabilities in the Orchard Park school district, People Inc. opened an after-school respite program for students in middle school and high school. The program, which offers group and individualized social activities, is now accepting students.

Dozens Show Their People Inc. Pride Throughout the Summer

Over the summer, People Inc. staff, families, and people we support gathered to show their pride in being part of the People Inc. family at parades, flag raisings, and other events across our service area. From Juneteenth to the Corporate Challenge, it was a People Inc. party throughout the Buffalo and Rochester regions!
