People Inc. Day Habilitation Programs Host Auction
Event to raise awareness about people with developmental disabilities
What:
People Inc.’s Day Habilitation Auction. More than 150 baskets will be auctioned off, including Buffalo Bills memorabilia, restaurant and entertainment gift certificates, jewelry, and so much!

Saturday; November 4; 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Knights of Columbus Hall, 2735 Union Rd. (near William), Cheektowaga
Why:
People Inc.’s Day Programs will host an auction to raise community awareness about people with developmental disabilities. The purpose of the auction is to bring to light by photographs, a PowerPoint presentation, and some old fashion talking some of the beneficial and resourceful ways people with developmental disabilities contribute to the community. All proceeds will benefit the program participants at People Inc.’s Day Programs. People Inc.’s Day Services Department has had tremendous success providing meaningful activities to all participants. Funds received from this benefit will continue this endeavor.
Cost:
Admission is $7, which includes one sheet of 25 tickets; each additional sheet of tickets is $5.

People Inc.’s site-based Day Programming is offered in a variety of locations throughout Western New York including Buffalo, Tonawanda, Orchard Park, Lancaster, and the village of Silver Creek. The programs are designed to assist people with developmental disabilities in becoming participating, contributing members of his or her community. Each unique setting focuses on meaningful enhancement of identified skill areas through volunteer experiences, community integration, socialization, and daily living activities. Specific requests may be made for computer work, greenhouse involvement, music, woodworking, ceramics, and food preparation. Additionally the Lancaster site specializes in providing services to very medically involved individuals.
People Inc. is a not-for-profit health and human services agency providing programs and services to more than 10,000 people with special needs, their families, and seniors throughout Western New York. Since 1971, People Inc. has assisted individuals to achieve greater degrees of independence and productivity.
