Ribbon Cutting for Eleventh Affordable Senior Housing Complex

Why:
By the year 2015, nearly a quarter of the people living in Western New York will be at least 60 years of age. People Inc is responding to the needs of our growing elderly population with this $5 million dollar project and the opening of its eleventh affordable senior housing complex. Located in Clarence, Oak Senior Housing provides a new home to independent seniors, age 62 and up, who meet the federally mandated income guidelines. Oak Senior Housing contains 49 one–bedroom apartments. Tours will be provided of the site and the seniors apartments.

People Inc.’s Oak Senior Housing provides safe, affordable housing for low-income senior citizens capable of independent living. The rental apartments consist of a single bedroom, kitchen, living/dining area, and a bathroom. Additionally, the building includes a Community Room with full kitchen and lounge area for social gatherings, caretaker’s apartment, new appliances in the tenant apartments, laundry facilities, full-time manager's office, and recreation activities. In addition to the Clarence facility, People Inc. operates senior housing complexes in Amherst, Blasdell, Cheektowaga, Grand Island, Hamburg, Lackawanna Orchard Park, South Buffalo, North Buffalo, and West Seneca.

People Inc. is a not-for-profit health and human services agency providing programs and services to more than 10,000 people with special needs, their families, and seniors throughout Western New York.
