Community Groups to Assemble Today at Noon For National Crime Victims Rights Week

Buffalo, N.Y. April 26, 2007: The Neighborhood Information Center’s Crime Victim Assistance Program, which is now a program of People Inc., is pleased to announce a luncheon on Thursday April 26, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at St. Stanislaus Social Center, located at 389 Peckham Street, Buffalo, NY. The event is a celebration of the 27th anniversary of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week during the week of April 22-28, 2007. This year’s theme “Victims’ Rights: Every Victim, Every Time” emphasizes that until all victims report crimes against them, know and exercise their rights, and receive the help they need to rebuild their lives, there is still much work to be done. The Neighborhood Information Center pays tribute to all those offering help, wisdom, and crucial services to victims and their families, including the professionals who work daily with innocent people who have been victimized.

In attendance with several community groups and People Inc will be Commissioner Jacqueline Mattina (From NYS Crime Victims Board); Robert Coogan, Monitor for NYS Crime Victims Board; and representatives from the New York State Attorney General’s office.

People Inc. is a not-for-profit human service agency providing programs and services to at least 10,000 people with special needs, their families, and seniors throughout Western New York. Since 1971, People Inc. has assisted individuals to achieve greater degrees of independence and productivity.
