People Inc.’s Incredible Years Program Accepts Participants
Program provides free training for parents to help children develop and improve self-esteem
Buffalo, N.Y. March 30, 2006: Children do not come with an instruction book, but help is available for parents. People Inc. is offering a chapter of the Incredible Years Program for parents to take advantage of. The program will offer free training for parents to learn how to help their children develop, including: improving self-esteem and self-concept and decreasing negative behaviors at home, as well as decreasing peer aggression and disruptive behaviors in the classroom.
The Incredible Years Program offers research-based, proven effective programs for reducing children's aggression and behavior problems and increasing social competence at home and at school. The Incredible Years Program will teach parents how to cope with the stresses of parenthood, avoid power struggles, determine appropriate consequences and develop creative and imaginative play with your child.
The 12-week training will begin in August at People Inc.’s Elmwood Health Center, 2128 Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo. This free training is made possible through a grant from The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation.
