People Inc. Leases Office at Northtown Business Center
Office is home to Service Coordination staff; agency continues to grow
Buffalo, N.Y. January 9, 2006: People Inc., Western New York’s largest human services agency, announced it leased an additional office at 3131 Sheridan Drive in Amherst in the Northtown Business Center at the former Century Mall. The office, which includes 15,000 square feet, is located between North Bailey and Niagara Falls Boulevard.
People Inc. moved its Service Coordination and Behavioral Support Departments from its 280 Spindrift Drive location in Williamsville to the new Sheridan Drive office in Amherst. Approximately 65 staff from the Quality Assurance, Nursing, and Residential Services Departments remained at the Spindrift Drive location.
According to President and Chief Executive Officer James M. Boles, Ed.D., “People Inc. is continuing to grow its programs and services and as a result, additional service coordinators are needed to serve our consumers. A larger office space was necessary to accommodate the nearly 100 staff in the Service Coordination and Behavioral Support Departments.”
In 2006, People Inc. plans the following developments: Six new groups to open in Buffalo, East Aurora, Lancaster, and Williamsville; affordable housing for independent seniors will open in Lackawanna and West Seneca with development plans for other areas; and two day habilitation programs will open in Silver Creek and West Seneca.
People Inc.'s headquarters will remain at 1219 North Forest Rd. in Williamsville. The 976 Delaware Ave. location in Buffalo will remain open as an employee training center.
People Inc. is a not-for-profit health and human service agency providing programs and services to at least 10,000 people with special needs, their families and seniors throughout Western New York. Since 1971, People Inc. has assisted individuals to achieve greater degrees of independence and productivity.
