The Why Guy visits People Inc.’s Museum of disABILITY History
The “Why Guy” Kevin O’Neill from WIVB-TV Channel 4 featured the Museum of disABILITY History on Wake Up! on April 3. One of the newest exhibits, Pop Culture, was highlighted, as well as a new educational program through the Boy Scouts of America where scouts earn their Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge. People Inc. Partners with Neighborhood Information Center, Inc.
Through its recently developed merger with Neighborhood Information Center (NIC) that focuses on crime victim’s assistance to the elderly, “People Inc. at NIC,” as the partnership is called, announced the two agencies commemoration of the 26th anniversary of National Victim Rights Week, from April 23-29, 2006. The theme, “Victims Rights: Strength in Unity,” pays tribute to crime victims and survivors who have joined together in mutual support and advocacy to promote victim’s rights and services. To help launch the awareness week, People Inc. and the Neighborhood Information Center held a luncheon to recognize crime victims, their families, victim advocates, law enforcement, criminal justice professionals, and volunteers. Erie County District Attorney Frank J. Clark was the featured speaker.

People Inc. employee recognized by

People Inc. Assistant Director of Medical Services, Tanya Perri, was recognized in The Buffalo News feature “A Salute to Dr. Martin Luther King,” on April 4, 2006. Tanya started at People Inc. in 2001 as a residential nurse and has been promoted several times. She has worked with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive plan of care for the hundreds of people served with disabilities, including a special nutritional approach. Tanya has taught diabetic care and has directed a number of New York State Department of Health grant initiatives. In 2005, Tanya was promoted to Assistant Director of Medical Services for People Inc. |
