The Youth Employment Services (YES) project is designed to help increase the employability of youth who are in transition from school to employment through the Erie County One-Stop System. It is the goal of this project to strengthen the links between the major school districts in Erie County, the One-Stop System, Catholic Charities (the agency in Erie County which serves as the primary workforce youth provider), and community-based employment providers for the disabled. The project partners are Aspire of WNY; Catholic Charities Youth Services; Heritage Centers; People Inc.; Suburban Adult Services, Inc. (SASi), and One-Stop Centers in Erie County. The youth being targeted by this project are either in-school and at-risk, out-of-school, and/or drop-outs all who are between the ages of 16-24 with developmental disabilities and/or special needs. They may have basic skill deficiencies, be unemployed, or underemployed or lack real life work experience to enter the workforce.
