FAMILY CARE PROGRAM

A residential alternative for individuals with developmental
disabilities that provides a loving, nurturing "family" environment with
less structure than a traditional residential setting. The program
places individuals in the homes of Family Care Providers. These
providers are reimbursed for room and board on a monthly basis and
receive a difficulty of care payment based on the individual's needs.
Family care providers support consumers' growth and development by
offering understanding, guidance, and supervision. They also assist with
budgets, goals, medical appointments, and provide 24-hour care. During
the day, individuals may attend day programs, adult day care, workshops,
school, work in a supported employment placement, or stay at home.
