Bus Safety
- Children should be supervised while walking to and at the bus stop. Make sure they know to wait away from the road and to avoid rough play.
- Teach your children to ask the bus driver for help if he or she drops something near the bus.
- Make sure clothing has no loose drawstrings and backpacks straps are short so that they don't get caught in the handrail or bus door.
- Encourage safe school bus loading and unloading.
- Motorists coming to a school bus from either direction must stop when the bus displays flashing red lights and extends the stop signal arm.
- Never pass a school bus on the right side of the bus.
