Poisons:

  1. Open the flue in your fireplace when burning a fire to provide adequate ventilation.
  2. Keep poisonous plants out of reach. Some poisonous holiday plants include: amaryllis, azalea, boxwood, castor bean, Christmas cactus, Christmas rose, Crown of Thorns, English and American ivy, Jerusalem or Jimson weed, Christmas cherry, mountain laurel and pokeweed. Contrary to popular belief, poinsettias are not poisonous, but they might cause skin irritation and intense gastrointestinal distress.
