Learning Independence Through Enterprise Program (LITE)
The Learning Independence Through Enterprise Program (L.I.T.E.) is an innovative, real world day program designed to help individuals with developmental disabilities learn the skills necessary to develop and successfully run their own small businesses. This ground breaking, intensive new program teaches through internships with existing successful businesses, classes on business skills, lectures from successful area entrepreneurs, assistance in development and execution of a Business Plan, instruction on locating and procuring start up funds as well as using professional associations and networking opportunities to grow and run a profitable business. Participants will learn how to develop and take their idea to the marketplace using existing channels as well as develop self sufficiency and entrepreneurial skills that will help them in ALL aspects of life, taking them light years ahead in the goal of being not only completely independent, but thriving in their communities.
